The basic approach of this book is to accurately describe the underlying physics of groundwater flow and solute transport in heterogeneous porous media, starting at the microscopic level, and to rigorously derive their mathematical representation at the macroscopic levels. The well-posed, macroscopic mathematical models are formulated for saturated, single phase flow, as well as for unsaturated and multiphase flow, and for the transport of single and multiple chemical species. Numerical models are presented and computer codes are reviewed, as tools for solving the models. The problem of seawater intrusion into coastal aquifers is examined and modeled. The issues of uncertainty in model input data and output are addressed. The book concludes with a chapter on the management of groundwater resources. Although one of the main objectives of this book is to construct mathematical models, the amount of mathematics required is kept minimal.

Again, some call them apostolic centers, houses of prayer, missions bases, kingdom centers, glory hubs and so on.

Although you don’t see the term revival hub in the Bible, it’s a new wineskin—or perhaps better called a resurrection of the original model of church—that is clearly presented in the Book of Acts. Here is our definition of a revival hub: a center that is focused on digging and maintaining a rich well of revival and Spirit-led ministry unto equipping, awakening and societal transformation. A revival hub is a base of tactical operation, organization, and deployment.

Father is placing men and women in small towns and big cities to dig deep wells of revival and refreshing. He is establishing ministries that will, when they mature, serve as a hub of awakening in their region, where people come and go to get refreshed and equipped. Radical revivalists whose heart cry is to see a Third Great Awakening will steward divine outpourings in revival hubs. The vision is not merely to build a ministry that blesses people but to release the spiritual destiny of a city or region, host the presence of God, and facilitate a radical transformation in hearts and minds that ultimately changes the spiritual climate.

Think about it for a minute. What would it look like if a group of people gathered in unity and holiness to cry out to the Lord? What would it look like if people in your region began to share the gospel with signs and wonders following? What would it look like if the church in your region was alive and fully awake to the spirit realm? Very Helpful Book On Revival Hubs!

Jennifer LeClaire and Ryan LeStrange co-authored this interesting and helpful book on many different components necessary to start a revival hub which is different from a traditional church structure. In short, the new wine cannot be poured into the old wineskins but must be poured into the new wineskins. The revival hubs are the new wineskins and the traditional church structures are the old wineskins. If you are religious, you will not like this book! If you are hungry and passionate for the new move of God, you will love this book!

an annointed book. anyone who lives a spirit filled life and has been blessed with dreams and visions should read this, Revival Hubs Rising mirrors my own writings,,and those of others I know that also spend time with God in Prayer. The authors don't know me, and couldn't have influenced my prayer journals over the last 2 years. God is speaking to us,,,are we listening? This is a very fast read,,though I often go back for further study and checking on Bible references. This Book, for me, was pure confirmation!

I highly recommend this book. Ryan and Jennifer have given language and clarity to the shift that so many of us have been experiencing. If you need help making this transition, get this book. It could be used a textbook to share with apostolic teams, etc. It certainly brought clarity to me. It's the best thing I've read to date regarding this subject matter. Get it!

About the Author

W. James Popham has spent the bulk of his educational career as a teacher. His first teaching assignment, for example, was in a small eastern Oregon high school where he taught English and social studies while serving as yearbook advisor, class sponsor, and unpaid tennis coach.� That recompense meshed ideally with the quality of his coaching.

����������� Most of Dr. Popham's teaching career took place at UCLA where, for nearly 30 years, he taught courses in instructional methods for prospective teachers as well as courses in evaluation and measurement for graduate students.� At UCLA he won several distinguished teaching awards.� In January 2000, he was recognized by UCLA Today as one of UCLA’s top 20 professors of the 20th century.� (He notes that the 20th century was a full-length century, unlike the current abbreviated one.)� In 1992, he took early retirement from UCLA upon learning that emeritus professors received free parking.

����������� Because at UCLA he was acutely aware of the perishability of professors who failed to publish, he spent his non-teaching hours affixing words to paper.� The result: over 25 books, 200 journal articles, 50 research reports, and 175 papers presented before research societies.� Although not noted in his official vita, while at UCLA he also authored 1,426 grocery lists.

����������� In 1978, Dr. Popham was elected to the presidency of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).� He was also the founding editor of Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, a quarterly journal published by AERA.� He has attended each year's AERA meeting since his first in 1958.� He is inordinately compulsive.

����������� In 1968, Dr. Popham established IOX Assessment Associates, an R&D group that formerly created statewide student achievement tests for a dozen states.� He has personally passed all of those tests, largely because of his unlimited access to the tests’ answer keys.

This was a terrible book to read. The information is great but Popham has this way of writing that tells you the same information in 10 different, complicated ways. It takes way too long to get through. If you're a teacher, your students will resent you.

Easy to understand, helpful for K-12 teachers

Popham's work is some of the easiest-to-read, least jargon filled, in the area of designing classroom tests. Chapter by chapter, he takes the reader through the different kinds of test questions, how to write them, how to grade them, how to tell if your students understand what you're asking; then he provides case studies, examples, and lists of further reading.
The easy kinds of questions come first: selected-response, that is, questions where the test-taker picks an answer from ones provided by the teacher, such as multiple-choice, true-false, and matching. Popham explains how to write these clearly, how to reduce the confusion on the direction of true-false questions (and why it's NOT a good idea to try and "trick" your students by writing ambiguous or deliberately confusing answers).
Then the constructed-response type of questions, that is, ones where students write the answers: short-answer and essay. Again, Popham discusses how to write these clearly, how to write instructions indicating what kind of answer you expect, and, perhaps most important, especially for the novice teacher, how to grade these types of questions. He goes through the issue of "rubrics" - grading systems for essay questions which tell how many points will be given for different features of the answer, such as the value of the information, the spelling and grammar, the use of certain key words, etc, and how to decide what will constitute an "excellent" or "acceptable" or "not acceptable" answer in those categories.
One of the most extensive and informative features of the book is Popham's sidebars on how to explain to students why they have to take these kinds of tests, and, even more, how to explain tests to parents, especially standardized tests. Explaining to parents what the tests are supposed to measure, and how test results will be used, is a very big issue these days, especially in states with high-stakes testing; Popham's book will give you practice in addressing questions from parents, administrators, etc.

Good info, but annoying writing style

I had to buy this book to use in a class I'm taking. I find the information in the book to be very complete and packed full of useful information. However, in an effort to lighten the heaviness of the topic, the author resorts to silly interjections and comments that destroy the flow of the text. I found it jarring and annoying.

50 years in your hands

What a goldmine of information for anybody interested in the murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. It doesn't matter what your view might be on the matter, this work is made for you! It is loaded with facutual information on a minute by minute, hour by hour basis of the event being discussed. Each entry is footnoted and sourced. The author provides comments as warrented (no pun intended), but it is always clear what are his comments.

BOOK II DEATH deals with the events of the weekend of 11/22/1963 and presents much information as to people and events that made up the unfolding situation. Quite a lot of them may be unknown to many, but they are all important in their own way. I have been studying the assassination since about 11:45AM MST 11/22/63, and there was information presented and documented that I had not heard or seen before. I mean I don't think the Chronology misses a thing.

All in all, I have read about 11,000 pages of the Master Cronology (out of approx 32,000) including Book II DEATH. It is simply an amazing work and it is very apparent that the author has put his entire heart into producing it. Yes, there are some word usage issues in the text, but I suspicion auto-spell is the culprit there. It is very long and some things do get presented in different ways so the same info might show up more than once. But there is nothing that affects the fact that this is the information motherlode of what was going on that weekend, and what has been going on the last 50 years.

I don't beleive that nothing bad would have happened in the world if JFK had lived out a natural life, but this work goes quite far towards explaining the impact his death has had (and continues to have) on things that have happened since.

I personally enjoy the author's sarcasm and wit that is displayed throughout the work, but if you don't, just ignore it and make use of the underlying message that is always present. I say in all seriousness, this is a must for anyone who has the slightess, or the deepest, interest in the subject.

When you get the work (the entire work should be acquired as it becomes availiable, but each volume is a stand alone by itself so no need to wait) read the "READ ME" first as it explains the layout of the work and allows you to set up YOUR plan of attack for reading it! Also, I recommend you read the section on the author and his 50 year journey through the JFK assassination landscape. It will help you understand the sarcasm, his wit and why he felt the need to spend years bringing this all together, I hope you come away with a great appreciation for people such as the author. Thanks for the good work!

ESSENTIAL

Walt Brown is a genius: an excellent writer with a savage wit who synthesizes a mass of material into a coherent whole that is both entertaining and enlightening. On that score, one MUST get a copy of his book "The Warren Omission"- an instant classic that dissects and dismantles the Warren Commission report AND accompanying volumes. While Brown may hold grudges against those who had a momentary lapse in reason (a crisis in faith) when it comes to their feelings about the JFK case, one should not in turn hold that against Mr. Brown. It is incumbent upon that person or persons to rise above this, turn the other cheek, be the better man, and look at the obvious good of the writer and researcher.

In short, Walt Brown has written a book for the ages. Purchase this "Master Chronology" (all parts) and "The Warren Omission" as soon as possible- you will be very glad you did!

Ultimate Assassination Research Reference

Approaching the 50th anniversary, I started with this volume because I had little interest with anything other than the crime itself.

Book II: Death covers only November 22-24,1963, and goes minute by minute from JFK's awakening in Fort Worth that Friday morning through the conclusion of NBC's coverage on Sunday night. Dr. Brown includes every affidavit, interview, and testimony of witnesses from Dallas to Washington, D.C., and arranges each into a chronological accounting. Although Brown does give notes on the majority of the entries, he restrains himself as a writer to merely point out discrepancies in an individual's account or conflicts between two individuals' accounts who were in close proximity to each other. By gathering all the accounts together into one work, Brown has, without a doubt, compiled a reference which future researchers can rest upon comfortably.

Brown's treatment of the accounts and careful collection of just November 22-24 experience has assured that I will be purchasing and reading the other books. No one can read Book II without an understanding that there were more questions than answers in Dealey Plaza that day.
